SHORTAGE
HORN OF AFRICA: There is a desperate need for food and water. Failure of rains from October - December 2016 has led to a devastating drought in Kenya, Somalia and Ethiopia and more than 15 million people are facing food and water shortages and famine is now a possibility in Somalia.

The drought follows one of the strongest El Niño events on record. Forecasts predict the next rainfall is not expected until March – May, with rains even then predicted to be below average.
Time is running out! 5 million people in Somalia need humanitarian assistance and 1.3 million people in Kenya are facing food shortages. Working through our partner ERDO (erdo.ca) and their network in these countries, we are able to provide much-needed emergency food assistance in Somaliland, Somalia and Marsabit, Kenya.
SOUTH SUDAN: Up to 500,000 people have been displaced by conflict and are food insecure; 82,000 have fled to Uganda where Glad Tidings partner ERDO is focused on responding to the desperate needs of women & children.

You can ensure nutritional food supplements in 16 villages to 2,000 pregnant women and 500 persons with special needs in resettlement camps. 2,500 beneficiaries will be supported on a monthly basis for three months
